President of the Presidential Board of DEKRA e.V.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DEKRA SE
[until 06.04.2022]
— DEKRA, the world’s largest non-listed expert organization, is making excellent progress. Services relating to technical and digital safety and security are in demand, which is clear to see from our revenue growth of around 11%. DEKRA returned to its growth trajectory and record-breaking figures in 2021. With revenue of more than €3.5 billion, we significantly exceeded the record results from 2019, before the pandemic hit.
The Supervisory Board has overseen DEKRA’s future strategic development with the aim of safeguarding the company’s future. With our Strategy 2025 and focus on five very promising growth markets (known as focus areas), we have laid the foundation for keeping pace with megatrends and achieving further growth in services related to safety, security, and sustainability.
One such megatrend is the restructuring of our economy to focus more on conserving resources and combating climate change. DEKRA is ideally placed to grow in this field due to its long-standing and wide-ranging expertise. As a testing organization, DEKRA will assist many companies as they strive to do business in a more sustainable way. For example, we will issue certifications in accordance with the latest environmental standards, and work to assess and improve organizations’ environmental footprint.
2021 was a difficult year in many respects, in particular due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. On behalf of the Presidential and Supervisory Boards, I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all DEKRA employees for their unwavering commitment. I would also like to thank all the members of DEKRA e.V., as well as our customers and business partners, for placing their trust in us.
